Nickel Plating

We do our own polishing and nickel plating, it allows us to be very sympathetic to veteran bicycles. We can polish them to perfection but like to leave evidence of the age, otherwise your veteran bicycle may be mistaken for one of our gleaming replicas. Everyone has their own taste and opinion but sometimes we are limited by the condition. You cannot polish heavy pits on handlebar tubes to perfection without compromising structural strength.

Another issue is dipping whole frames in acid and plating tanks. The tubes fill up with highly corrosive chemicals which are difficult to rinse out. Doing our plating in house means when plating lugs or ends of frames, we only submerge the parts requiring plating.
